Who Left Out the Flour?!?!

I must admit, the flour wasn't left out. I took the flour out of the pantry and put it right smack-dab in the middle of the floor so GG could play in it! I thought it would be so much fun to watch her reaction. Would she stick her face in it? Would she try to eat it? Would she slide around like a little piggy in mud? Well, actually, she did none of those things! She was very apprehensive and careful through the entire play time! I encouraged her, "Come on! Get in there! Make a mess!" However, my little GG really didn't like being messy too much! Here I am, wanting her, practically begging her, to throw caution to the wind and make a huge mess, but nope. Not today. She is becoming her own little person and, maybe, that's a person that doesn't like being messy!

I see God in a child developing her sense of self.

Guess I'll put up the flour,

Rubber Ducky, You're the One!

As I was getting ready to throw in a load of laundry, I walked past GG's bathroom and noticed all of her rubber duckies! When I was pregnant, I painstakingly picked out every single one of those ducks (and even registered for some! ha!) because they all had something I thought she would love! I mean, who spends that much time picking out a rubber duck? I'll tell you who. A worrying, giddy, emotional, waddling, hysterically laughing all the time woman who's going to be a mother for the first time! Love is truly in the details and, today, I saw God in the details.

Love,

The Sponge

Children are such sponges! It is amazing to watch them as they grow and start to learn. I wasn't around a lot of babies growing up, so everything she does is so new to me. Gabriella was watching G-Force with Rick tonight and her facial expressions made it seem like she understood everything that was happening!

I see God in the miraculous development of life that is proof He exists!

Goodnight,

He's everywhere!

Of course, I know that God is everywhere. However, since I've started this blog, I've been looking for Him in the not-so-obvious places, so that I have something more interesting to share. You've seen, I've seen, we've all seen God in our family, nature, etc. BUT, have you seen God in these places??

A birthday cupcake!

My Mother-in-Law turned 60 this weekend! I saw God in a candle that represented another precious year.

A tent!

Did you ever build a fort or play in a tent when you were little? I saw God in a crowded princess tent that housed three cousins playing, giggling, and speaking their own love language.

A keyboard!

I didn't see God this time; I heard him...

In the mismatched notes of exploration and discovery.

In a little girl's room!

Oh the fun in this room! GG bounces from her big teddy bear to her little rocking chair! I see God in the foot-loose and fancy-free joy that Gabriella has when she's playing in her room.

Two front teeth!

Rick and I worried and worried about whether GG was ever going to get teeth. Was something wrong with her gums? Was she going to have teeth at all?! Ha!

I see God in two front teeth that eventually came and shouted,

"Don't worry so much!"

I hope that you are finding God in the not-so-obvious,

Wait Before You Pick Up the Mess!

Doll here. Ball there. Seems like there's always something to pick up around the house! GG litters the floor with all of her books and toys. Today, as I went to "pick up," I stopped and thought about what all the "mess" means. The hairbrush, lipstick (just my color, I might add), popper, and little shoes are all symbols that there is life here.

We live here. We play here. We make memories here.

Maybe I shouldn't be so quick to get rid of the evidence....it's kind of a nice reminder! Today, I saw God in our shoes by the door. The shoes that show we went somewhere and returned.

Together.

If you're reading, thank you! :)

Is There Anything Sweeter?

For whatever reason, there is something super special about the love between a father and daughter. Rick is the first man in Gabriella's life and there aren't words for that special bond. Maybe a picture could do that bond justice...probably not, but I tried! My favorite picture is the last. How many times in the years to come will that small hand reach out for her father's in times of sadness, joy, pride, reassurance, or just to play?

I see God in a sliver of grass that a daughter finds for her father.

What a Beautiful Day!

We couldn't ask for a better weekend! We have enjoyed playing out in the yard and rolling around in the grass. I see God in clear blue skies!

Here We Go Again!

I've decided to start a new blog. I've tried before and I'm not very good with keeping up with it. However, since I love photography and I got a new camera, I thought I'd devote a place to sharing my pictures. This time, it's simple: sharing, through pictures, the precious moments of life my family isn't taking for granted! Where am I seeing God? Where are you seeing God?

Today I saw God...

in long eyelashes

in chubby cheeks and whisps of hair. Gonna keep on lookin',
